 RRB NTPC Non-Technical Syllabus 2025

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) NTPC exam is conducted for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) posts like Station Master, Goods Guard, Clerk, Typist, Commercial Apprentice, and Traffic Assistant.

The exam consists of two stages:

  1. CBT-1 (Preliminary Stage) – Qualifying in nature
  2. CBT-2 (Mains Stage) – Final selection
  3. Typing Skill Test/Computer-Based Aptitude Test (if applicable)
  4. Document Verification & Medical Examination
   
                 



1. RRB NTPC CBT-1 Syllabus (Prelims)

This stage consists of 100 questions and a 90-minute time limit.

Negative Marking: 0.33 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
Qualifying Marks: Varies based on category & cut-off.

2. RRB NTPC CBT-2 Syllabus (Mains)

This stage is harder than CBT-1, with 120 questions in 90 minutes.

Negative Marking: 0.33 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
Difficulty Level: Higher than CBT-1

Difference between CBT-1 and CBT-2:

  • CBT-2 has more questions and a higher difficulty level.
  • The syllabus remains the same, but questions are more in-depth in CBT-2.

3. Typing Skill Test / Computer-Based Aptitude Test

  • Typing Test (For Clerk & Typist Posts):
    • Candidates must type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi.
  • Computer-Based Aptitude Test (For Station Master & Traffic Assistant):
    • Psychological tests to check decision-making and reasoning abilities.

Final Selection Process:

  1. CBT-1 (Qualifying)
  2. CBT-2 (Merit-Based)
  3. Typing Test/Aptitude Test (If Required)
  4. Document Verification & Medical Examination
